The purpose of the Annual Grant Competition is to stimulate new and innovative research in critical areas which is not included in the current proposal and also to support expansion of the most successful activities proposed in this proposal that has merit to be expanded further for validation, commercialization, nation-wide activity, etc. An RFP will be made annually to support new extension/education (80%) and research (20%) projects upon the recommendations of the advisory board. The announcement will be made immediately following the annual meeting once currently funded projects are evaluated and new and emerging change in direction has been discussed. The RFP will be advertised widely through the AVMA, USAHA, and PSA.
